I've done a lot of work for the teenage market, most notably for Mary Glasgow Magazines (a division of Scholastic) and Sugar, which may or may not still be the UK's number one magazine for teenage girls. For a while I drew many 'embarrassing moment' illos for Sugar, (I will post more of these in the future, they were a lot of fun to do) in case you are wondering where I got the idea to draw the girl farting in the boy's face. It's a true story!

Portfolio Week 01
A lot of the artwork on my blog will tend to be unseen work, pitches that were never used or personal work. But I thought I should at least post some of my 'bread and butter' stuff as a kind of mini illustration portfolio, so you can just search the label marked portfolio and get access to mine!
This first selection comprises a few general illustration pieces, concerning food additives, voicemail and the life of a phone book

Who Killed Round Robin?
My entry for Who Killed Round Robin? is up today.
"Round Robin" is a game where one person starts a story and then others continue it by adding a piece at a time until the tale is complete. In this case, it takes the form of a comic strip, and it was my turn last. Please take a look. As well as myself, there are another six artists involved, all very talented. The quality of work has been remarkable so far and where the story ends up is a mystery to everyone bar perhaps Mystic Meg.

Trashy New Year!
I'm experimenting with photographic backgrounds a bit at the moment. If you take the photo yourself, it's still all your own work, right? I also really wanted to draw an urban fox.
And that's it for New Year 2008 week. I really appreciate the comments so far. Please come back again on Monday for more art. Have a great weekend!

Crabby New Year!
I didn't do any Christmas cards this year, but I did sent out new year greetings to friends and family. I'll post a different one each day. This character may be a total mystery to you unless you kindly read my comics a decade ago. If you'd like to see him in all his glory, the Felt Mistress herself produced a cuddly version for me which I treasure to this day.
Look!
